The Teaching of Economics Award
and The Teaching of Personal Finance Award

PURPOSE
These awards promote excellence in economic and personal finance education at the K-12 level by honoring inspirational teachers whose innovative teaching concepts improve and stimulate economic and personal finance understanding in and out of their classroom. We seek applicants who provide their students with understanding and skills to make informed and responsible decisions that they will carry with them as they grow into successful and productive adults. This award is given in honor of Whit King, Jr., for his lifetime support of economic and financial education in Alabama.

ELIGIBILITY
- This award is open to Alabama K-12 teachers of any subject.
- Applicants must be current K-12 teachers from public or private schools.
- Applicants must have taught in the classroom during the 2021-22 school year.
- Applicants must demonstrate how they integrate economics or personal finance into their teaching.
- Any eligible teacher may submit an application.
- A cash award of $500
- Recognition at the annual ACEE Awards Luncheon
- Induction in the ACEE Teacher Hall of Fame
